Tom Cruise turns the big 46 today.

“He is spending his birthday with his family at his home in Telluride,” a source close to the actor tells Usmagazine.com.

Cruise just celebrated the 25th anniversary of his breakthrough film Risky Business. (He was 19 when he shot the iconic dancing-in-his-undies scene. See more stars in their skivvies.)

“I was always trying to enjoy every moment that I could because I thought, ‘If this is the last film I get to make, then at least I lived that dream,’” Cruise recently told Oprah Winfrey.

“I had no idea that I’d be here 25 years later doing this,” he added.

Born in Syracuse, New York, Cruise almost became a priest.

“I looked at the priesthood and said, ‘Listen, this is what I’m going to do’,” he once said to Britain’s Sunday Times magazine. “After a year, I decided being a priest was not for me.”

After a long string of romances - including a marriage to Nicole Kidman (with whom he has two adopted children) - Cruise found love with Katie Holmes.

He married Holmes, 29, on November 18, 2006 just outside Rome in a lavish wedding that, according to Forbes estimates, cost nearly $2 million.

The couple welcomed daughter Suri in April 2006.

“She’s spectacular,” he has said of Suri. “She really is just magic.”
