Pop star Madonna is set to build a state of the art multi million dollar girl’s school for the under privileged, in Malawi said her local lawyer on Wednesday.
According to Alan Chinula, Madonna’s lawyer, a task force of four prominent Malawians had been drawn up to head the project, which will be on par with the school that Oprah Winfrey built up in South Africa.
Oprah Winfrey had spent $40 million on a modern school for girl children in South Africa that boasts of all latest facilities like Gym, labs and even a beauty salon.
Madonna is currently engaged in a battle with Malawi High court in the process of adopting a two year old Malawian David Banda.
The Malawian government and David Banda’s father (his only surviving parent)have already endorsed the adoption
The adoption has been controversial with some opposing groups questioning the rights of outsiders to adopt Malawian Children. Malawi has over one million orphans created by the AIDS epidemic.
